The main purpose of this summer school is to provide MSc- & PhD-level students with practical experience in modern taxonomy. To this end, in partnership with experienced taxonomists, field work will be accompanied by theory lectures to provide an in-depth understanding of current trends in modern taxonomy.

You will be informed of your acceptance within a reasonable time after applying.
Participate as a student in the EDIT Summer School 2010: visit the website for additional information (http://www.atbi.eu/summerschool/node/188) and apply before the deadline of31/05/2010.
If you are accepted, we’ll provide your transport from the country where your University/Institute is located to the location of the Summer School, full board and accommodation (probably in dorms) for the full period of your stay. Training providers will additionally receive a per diem.

The European Distributed Institute of Taxonomy (EDIT) is the collective answer of 29 leading European, North American and Russian institutions to a call of the European Commission, issued in 2004, for a network in « Taxonomy for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research ». The EDIT consortium agreement has started on the 1rst of March 2006 and will last 5 years.
