The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) relies on Biodiversa+ to host its technical support unit on knowledge and data. This unit assists the IPBES in identifying and addressing critical knowledge gaps related to biodiversity and ecosystem services.
A key activity involves facilitating dialogues between IPBES assessment experts and research funders focused on biodiversity. This helps raise awareness of these knowledge gaps and encourages their inclusion in research programs.
On 15 March, Biodiversa+ hosted a webinar for partners to explore knowledge gaps identified in the last IPBES assessment on Invasive Alien Species. Experts involved in the process provided valuable insights and participants explored connections between these knowledge gaps, funding programs, and potential collaboration opportunities.
