Bird populations across Europe are shrinking due to habitat loss and climate change. As the continent’s largest network of protected areas, Natura 2000 sites play a critical role in their conservation. But how can we manage these sites effectively in a changing climate?
The SPEAR project (Scenarios for Protecting European Avian Redistributions) seeks to answer this question by studying management practices across Europe.
If you manage a Natura 2000 site, your expertise is invaluable! We invite you to participate in a brief survey about your site’s management activities:
- Types of actions implemented
- Species/habitats and threats addressed
- Perceptions and responses to climate change
- Unaddressed conservation threats
Your insights will directly contribute to the development of practical guidelines for effective management of Natura 2000 sites and inform policy decisions related to biodiversity conservation and adaptation to climate change.
The survey is available in multiple languages and closes on 15 March.
