The Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has launched its second Global Assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Building on the 2019 Global Assessment Report, this new assessment will integrate fresh knowledge, track progress, and provide the science-based policy tools needed to achieve sustainability and harmony with nature at all scales.
Are you an expert in biodiversity and ecosystem services?
IPBES is seeking experts with experience in regional and global analyses of terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine ecosystems. If you’re interested in policy-relevant, multidisciplinary, and international collaboration, we encourage you to apply and contribute!
To help you navigate the process, we hosted a webinar on 5 March, from 13:00 to 14:00 CET, featuring Helen Roy (author of the scoping report of the second Global Assessment and co-chair of the Invasive Alien Species Assessment) and Marie-Claire Danner (former technical support unit for the Sustainable Use of Wild Species Assessment).
In the recording of the webinar, you can learn about:
✅ The fundamentals of IPBES and its assessments.
✅ The scope of the second Global Assessment.
✅ What it’s like to be an author in an assessment.
✅ How to apply as an author or fellow.
