Biodiversa+ is pleased to announce that our next joint call for research will be on Nature-based Solutions! Nature-based solutions are understood as ‘actions to protect, conserve, restore, sustainably use and manage natural or modified terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine ecosystems, which address social, economic and environmental challenges effectively and adaptively, while simultaneously providing human well-being, ecosystem services and resilience and biodiversity benefits’ (UNEA/EA.5/Res.5).

This call will be embedded in our flagship program “Better knowledge to develop, deploy and assess nature-based solutions” and will be co-funded by the European Commission. Learn more about our flagship programmes.
Indicative timing
- Spring / Summer 2023: Official pre-announcement of the call, with further information on its topic and the themes that it will address
- September 2023: Launch of the BiodivNBS call
- November 2023: Deadline for the submission of pre-proposals
