4-8 May 2026
Montpellier, France
Join us in Montpellier, France, from 4 to 8 May 2026 for the first BioMonWeek, the new European conference dedicated to advancing biodiversity monitoring.
Co-organised by Biodiversa+, Alliance for Nature, BioAgora, GBIF ECA and MARCO-BOLO, this event will bring together Europe’s biodiversity monitoring community, from researchers and monitoring professionals to policymakers, private sector, and students.
Biodiversity monitoring in Europe involves many actors, but fragmented approaches and data practices continue to limit comparability, integration and informed decision-making, at a time when biodiversity conservation and restoration efforts are more important than ever.
Strong monitoring systems, capable of delivering reliable, comparable and usable data across a broad spectrum of species, habitats and pressures, are essential to guide and evaluate strategies, and are therefore of critical importance for decision-makers. BioMonWeek offers a space for the biodiversity monitoring community to exchange, connect and align on key challenges for the years to come.
It is the starting point for:
- Monitoring actors to strengthen collaboration
- Researchers and data specialists to align their monitoring approaches and integrate new methods and technologies
- Private sector actors and decision-makers to make better use of monitoring data
By bringing the monitoring community together, BioMonWeek aims to strengthen coordination and drive effective biodiversity action with impact across Europe.
