Interested in shaping biodiversity research and policy? Biodiversa+ invites organisations to apply to join its Enlarged Stakeholder Board (ESB).
Stakeholder engagement is essential to achieving Biodiversa+’s objectives, with the Enlarged Stakeholder Board (ESB) serving as its main platform. It provides a space for collaboration between Biodiversa+ and a wide range of organisations from different sectors, helping to ensure that our activities remain relevant, inclusive, and impactful.
Why should your organisation engage?
Being part of the ESB is a clear commitment to supporting the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the Nature Restoration Regulation, and the broader recovery of Europe’s biodiversity.
It offers a unique opportunity to:
- Contribute to shaping biodiversity research and innovation priorities
- Help bridge the gap between science, policy, and society by bringing your organisation’s specific expertise.
- Be part of a broad, diverse, multi-sector community committed to biodiversity
- Gain early access to Biodiversa+ outputs and collaboration opportunities
As a member, your organisation can also benefit from tailored collaboration opportunities with Biodiversa+, aligning efforts to advance shared goals.
What’s involved?
- Membership: Membership is granted at the organisational level, with each organisation free to designate its representative. All member organisations are publicly listed on the Biodiversa+ website.
- Term: The mandate lasts 3.5 years, starting from 1 October 2025.
- Time commitment: Approximately 5–6 days per year, including one annual in-person meeting (up to 3 days) in spring, and one online meeting (half a day) in autumn, with optional participation in additional activities.
- Representation in the Advisory Board: Each of the six ESB thematic colleges elects a representative and a substitute to serve on the Biodiversa+ Advisory Board, offering further opportunities to engage.
- Costs: Participation costs are fully covered by Biodiversa+ to ensure broad and inclusive engagement.
See the Terms of Reference for more details.
