Biodiversa+ is recruiting a new Project Officer to lead its stakeholder engagement activities!
Position
You will be part of the operational team, which plays a central role in implementing the partnership. The team currently consists of collaborators based in France, Belgium, Spain, and Finland. Your position will be based at the French Foundation for Biodiversity Research in Paris. Travel within Europe is expected. Applicants must be eligible to work in France; work permit support is not provided.
Main responsibilities and tasks
The officer will coordinate and implement activities under the cross-cutting Work Package 7 (WP7) on stakeholder engagement for Biodiversa+. WP7 is structured around three main objectives:
- Coordinate and integrate stakeholders across the partnership, supporting other work packages, particularly through the coordination of the Enlarged Stakeholder Board (ESB) and Advisory Board (AB)
- Build capacity among research and innovation (R&I) actors to engage with policymakers, field practitioners, and businesses for long-term impact
- Promote public participation and co-production of knowledge, increasing the societal relevance of R&I and raising awareness of the biodiversity crisis
- Track and promote stakeholder involvement across Biodiversa+ activities
Candidate profile
- Skills and personal qualities
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken (position based in Paris with daily interactions across Europe)
- Experience in project management and coordination, particularly in multi-stakeholder, European or international contexts
- Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement methods/tools, science-policy and science-society dynamics, especially around biodiversity
- Knowledge of at least some of the partnership’s core themes (research, biodiversity, public policy, society)
- Strong analytical, synthesis and writing skills, including scientific content in English
- Proficient with office and collaborative tools
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proactive and autonomous, with good initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, ability to foster dialogue and maintain networks
- Team spirit and enjoyment of working in a dynamic, intercultural, collaborative environment
- Eagerness to take on new challenges and develop new skills
- Education & experience
- University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in ecology, social sciences, European project management, or a related environmental field (incl. applied social sciences)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar position, ideally linked to research, environment, project management, public engagement, or stakeholder processes

195 rue Saint Jacques, 75005 Paris, France - Contract: 18-month full-time fixed-term contract (CDD), with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent contract (CDI)
- Salary: From €2,743 gross/month, negotiable depending on experience
- Advantages: 50% public transport reimbursement, luncheon vouchers, health insurance coverage, hybrid work (up to 3 days/week)
