18 of March 2025 from 14:00 to 15:30 UTC+1
️Sensor networks as a tool for environmental monitoring ️
From task 2.3.1 we are launching a series of capacity building webinars discussing the use and deployment of novel technologies for biodiversity monitoring across Europe. We would like to invite all Biodiversa+ partners and interested stakeholders in their network to the third webinar on the 18 of March 2025 from 14:00 to 15:30 UTC+1, focusing on the use of sensor networks approaches for monitoring.
In this webinar, Georg Niedrst (Eurac Research, Bolzano) will speak about their use of digital tools for managing long-term climate data and imagery from an alpine catchment. In addition, Lluís Gómez Gener (Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research, Catalonia), will share their experiences in using autonomous sensor networks for monitoring soil and river hydro-biogeochemical dynamics in high-mountain areas.
We invite all interested partners to join the webinar and to be prepared for a lively discussion as we will leave up to 30 min for questions and debates with our speakers. Please note that this session will not deal with specific technicalities of sensor networks, but more on the deployment of this technology for biodiversity monitoring and its applications.

Important! Don’t worry if you cannot attend the meeting, we will record the presentation session to make it available on the Biodiversa+ YouTube channel. However, the questions will not be recorded.
