Toolkit
Three guides to help organisations mobilise biodiversity data for nature-positive action.
Biodiversity loss is increasingly recognised as a material risk for economies and businesses. As expectations rise, organisations are required to understand their impacts and dependencies on nature, disclose them transparently, and act. To support this transition, Biodiversa+ has released three complementary reports focused on how biodiversity data are understood, used, and shared in practice.

Get a comprehensive overview of the key policies, actors, and tools shaping the business and biodiversity space.
- Key policies: Deep dive into regulations like CSRD, SFDR, and the EU Taxonomy.
- Major actors: Learn about influential groups like the TNFD, SBTN, and Business for Nature.
- Tools overview: Discover tools for measuring impacts, assessing dependencies, and framing action.
Learn how to find and use publicly available biodiversity data to assess risks, inform strategy, and prepare for reporting.
- ACT-D framework: A clear path to Assess, Commit, Transform, and Disclose.
- Case studies: See how industry leaders use data for risk mapping and reporting.
- Overcoming barriers: Practical solutions for challenges like data gaps and lack of internal expertise.
Share your company’s biodiversity data safely and effectively, enhancing transparency and contributing to science.

Connecting European practice to global evidence
These reports are released at a moment when the role of business in halting biodiversity loss is receiving unprecedented global attention. The IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment provides the global scientific evidence on how businesses and financial institutions depend on and impact biodiversity, and why action is urgent. While IPBES sets the global evidence base, the Biodiversa+ reports focus on how biodiversity data are already being used and shared in practice in Europe, and how this can be strengthened to support real-world action.
Engage and learn more
Biodiversa+ will host a series of online webinars and an in‑person workshop to explore the findings of the toolkit and support its practical uptake. Registration details will be available soon.
