Stakeholder conflicts are consistently recognised as a major obstacle to effective nature restoration. How can these conflicts be anticipated and effectively managed?
This webinar, organised by Biodiversa+ and the BiodivRestore Knowledge Hub, will give you the keys to understand the underlying causes of conflicts, the different types that arise, and how to identify matching conflict management pathways. It draws on the recently released report Stakeholder Conflicts and Conflict Management in Nature Restoration in Europe, and Beyond.
It is particularly relevant for EU institutions and Member State authorities responsible for designing, implementing or evaluating National Restoration Plans, restoration practitioners and project managers working on restoration governance, land use, agriculture, forestry, water and biodiversity policy, landowners, natural resource managers, businesses, and researchers and stakeholders involved in conflict management or environmental policy more broadly.
What can you expect:
- Insights into why conflicts occur in nature restoration;
- A clear framework for conflict diagnosis and management, grounded in five conflict types and their corresponding management pathways;
- Illustrative case studies covering various ecosystem types across Europe;
- A dedicated time to ask your questions.
