Biodiversa+ is actively supporting the implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The Global Biodiversity Framework Action Plan outlines how Biodiversa+ can play a key role in enabling evidence-based implementation of the GBF across Europe by networking and strengthening research, monitoring, innovation, policy advice, and international cooperation.
The Action Plan focuses on three core areas:
- advancing the integration of biodiversity across sectors and policies
- facilitating science-policy dialogues
- strengthening capacity-building
Through transnational research calls, open knowledge platforms, science–policy dialogue and harmonised monitoring efforts, Biodiversa+ helps ensure that high-quality scientific evidence supports decision-making at national, European and global levels.
Supporting the implementation of the GBF is part of the Internationalisation Strategy, which provides the strategic framework for engaging with international partners and global science-policy processes.
These two deliverables reinforce Biodiversa+’s role as a key European platform connecting biodiversity research with global policy action, helping turn international commitments into progress for nature.
