We are pleased to announce the release of our latest guide to support EU Member States in the establishment and operation of National Hubs. By fostering collaboration between science, policy and practice, these hubs can be very helpful for maximising the impact of Biodiversa+ initiatives at both national and European level.
National Hubs serve as focal points for consultation, coordination, and engagement, involving stakeholders such as research funders, policy makers, and environmental agencies. They facilitate exchange, dissemination of results, and policy alignment. They also promote stakeholder engagement and support transdisciplinary approaches to biodiversity conservation.
This guide outlines key steps for establishing a national hub, including stakeholder identification, goal setting, expert recruitment and operational planning. It also addresses potential challenges and provides recommendations for effective management and governance.
