“Biodiversa+ Dialogue on Transformative Change for biodiversity”
The Biodiversa+ Dialogue Event on “Transformative Change & Biodiversity” brought together 31 researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss how Biodiversa+ can support societal transformation for biodiversity. The event aimed to define “transformative change,” identify related knowledge gaps and research needs, and explore relevant Biodiversa+ activities.
Based on a theoretical paper and three entry points—biodiversity values, governance, and sustainable use—participants emphasised strengthening connections with Horizon Europe and other European initiatives, enhancing capacity building and transdisciplinary research, and considering local knowledge internationally. They also highlighted the need for better stakeholder involvement in co-designed research and improved communication with policymakers.
This event marks the first step toward broader consultations to implement transformative R&I through the partnership.
